Clinical Guidance

How to assess symptoms and act early

For digestive symptoms in Marrakech, request gastroenterology review when abdominal pain, vomiting, reflux, or bowel changes are persistent or worsening.

Symptom guide

Digestive triage weighs pain location, hydration status, bleeding signs, stool or vomiting changes, and progression speed.

When to request same-day medical help

  • Abdominal pain or bloating persists beyond 24 to 48 hours and worsens.
  • Recurring vomiting, diarrhea, reflux, or swallowing symptoms affect nutrition.
  • Frequent bowel habit change with fatigue, weight loss, or weakness.
  • Known digestive disease flare is not controlled by standard home measures.

Emergency warning signs (call now)

  • Vomiting blood, black stool, or significant fresh rectal bleeding.
  • Severe rigid abdominal pain with repeated vomiting.
  • Persistent inability to keep fluids down with dehydration signs.
  • Abdominal symptoms with confusion, fainting, or hemodynamic instability.

What to do while waiting for the doctor

  • Use small frequent sips of oral rehydration when tolerated.
  • Avoid alcohol, fatty meals, spicy food, and non-prescribed NSAIDs.
  • Track stool and vomiting frequency, color, and associated pain.
  • Prepare medication history and previous digestive reports.

Good outcomes usually come from early escalation, clear symptom tracking, and disciplined waiting steps.
