Uses

In adults: either as monotherapy, or in association with another anti-epileptic treatment:

· Treatment of generalized epilepsies: clonic, tonic, tonic-clonic, absence, myoclonic, atonic seizures, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

· Treatment of partial epilepsies: partial seizures with or without secondary generalization.

In children: either as monotherapy, or in association with another anti-epileptic treatment:

· Treatment of generalized epilepsies: clonic, tonic, tonic-clonic, absence, myoclonic, atonic seizures, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

· Treatment of partial epilepsies: partial seizures with or without secondary generalization.

In children:

· Prevention of seizure recurrence after one or more febrile convulsions, meeting the criteria for complicated febrile convulsions, in the absence of efficacy of intermittent prophylaxis with benzodiazepines.

Driving

Attention is drawn, particularly in drivers of vehicles and users of machines, to the risk of drowsiness, especially in the case of polytherapy with anticonvulsants or association with other medicines that may increase drowsiness.
