NAPROSYNE

They stem from the anti-inflammatory activity of naproxen, the importance of the intolerance manifestations to which the medicine gives rise, and its place within the range of anti-inflammatory products currently available.

They are limited, in adults (from 15 years), to:

· long-term symptomatic treatment:

§ chronic inflammatory rheumatism, notably rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis or related syndromes such as Fiessinger Leroy-Reiter syndrome and psoriatic rheumatism;

§ certain disabling and painful arthroses;

· short-term symptomatic treatment of acute flare-ups of:

§ abarticular rheumatism such as scapulohumeral peri-arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis,

§ arthroses,

§ low back pain,

§ radiculalgia,

§ benign acute post-traumatic affections of the locomotor system;

· dysmenorrhea after etiological investigation.

It is an adjunct therapy for non-rheumatological conditions; the risks incurred, in particular the extension of a concomitant septic process, must be evaluated against the expected benefit.

Warn patients of the possible onset of dizziness, drowsiness and visual disturbances.
