It is used to treat: · certain forms of epilepsy and convulsions. CARBAMAZEPINE SANDOZ L.P. is used to treat different forms of epilepsy or convulsions in adults and children. This medicine may be taken alone or in association with another antiepileptic medicine. · certain mood disorders. In this case, CARBAMAZEPINE SANDOZ L.P. is used when treatment with another medicine (notably lithium) has not worked or cannot be used. · certain types of pain. o facial pain caused by a disease of the facial nerves (trigeminal and glossopharyngeal neuralgias), o peripheral neuropathic pain in an adult.
