These medicines act by modifying the body's response to certain nerve impulses, particularly in the heart. Through these effects, DETENSIEL slows the heart rate and thus allows the heart to pump blood more efficiently. This simultaneously decreases the heart's needs for blood and oxygen. DETENSIEL is indicated in: · the treatment of arterial hypertension, · the prevention of effort angina attacks (a variety of angina pectoris attacks).
