Pharmacotherapeutic class - ATC code: C07AB07 The active substance of CARDENSIEL 2,5 mg, film-coated scoreable tablet is bisoprolol. Bisoprolol belongs to the class of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers act by modifying the body's response to certain nerve impulses, particularly at the level of the heart. Bisoprolol thus slows the heart rate and allows the heart to pump blood more efficiently throughout the body. Heart failure occurs when the heart muscle is weak and unable to pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. CARDENSIEL 2,5 mg, film-coated scoreable tablet is used to treat patients with stable chronic heart failure. This product is used in association with other medicines suitable for this condition (such as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors or ACE inhibitors, diuretics and cardiac glycosides).
