It belongs to the class of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. It decreases the amount of acid produced by your stomach. OMEPRAZOLE KRKA 10 mg, gastro-resistant capsule is used in adults for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (for example: heartburn, acid regurgitation). Gastro-oesophageal reflux is the return of acid from the stomach into the oesophagus (the tube that connects the throat to the stomach), which makes it inflamed and painful. This can cause symptoms such as a painful burning sensation in the chest rising up to the throat (heartburn) and a bitter taste in the mouth (acid regurgitation). It may be necessary to continue treatment for 2 or 3 consecutive days for the improvement of symptoms.
