Pharmacotherapeutic class: direct-acting antivirals, nucleosides and nucleotides excluding reverse transcriptase inhibitors - ATC code: J05AB01 ACICLOVIR ARROW contains the active substance aciclovir. This belongs to a group of medicines called antivirals. It acts by preventing the growth of certain viruses. ACICLOVIR ARROW can be used to: · treat chickenpox and shingles; · prevent complications of shingles of the eye (a viral disease characterized by a painful rash at the level of the eye) in adults.

Uses

ACICLOVIR ARROW is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by varicella (when clinically relevant) and for the treatment of Herpes zoster (shingles) infections, see section 5.1. "Pharmacodynamic properties".

ACICLOVIR ARROW is indicated for the prevention of ocular complications of herpes zoster ophthalmicus, in early administration, in adults.

Driving

The clinical state of the patient and the profile of the neuropsychic adverse effects of aciclovir must be taken into account to consider the patient's ability to drive vehicles and use machines.

No study has been conducted to evaluate the effects of aciclovir on the ability to drive vehicles or use machines.
